I've got a rifle in an old sporter style Bell & Carlson carbelite stock. The rifle is bedded well and shoots amazing (when I do my part :)) , so I don't want to swap stocks, but I need a higher comb and flatter foreend. I'd rather not do the adjustable comb add-on.

I was thinking of using Marine Tex to add ~1" to the comb, and to square out the foreend. I'll probably use some fiberglass tape and on the comb small metal pillars to help support the marine tex

Any thoughts on better materials or methods? Will the marine tex be brittle, or tend to chip?

Thanks!
