What are the options for getting a new stock for a Savage action?

From reading the McMillian web site it sounds like Savage actions are very similar to REM700 actions and the same stock may beused for either. Is this true?

To my knowledge a Savage action will not fit in a stock made for a Rem 700. If your Savage has a heavy barrel, any of the McMillan tactical stocks are nice.
These guys also make some nice stocks and are a bit cheaper than McMillan: http://www.savageshooters.com/sharpshooters/

If you are on a real limited budget check out the Bell & Carlson Duramaxx: http://www.bellandcarlson.com/

You can also check out Ebay, sometimes there will be some nice laminate stocks on there. Also, keep an eye on the forums on this site: http://www.savageshooters.com/index.html

There are a few options depending on what you are looking for. If i can be of any other help let me know.

Sharpshooter supply and stockade gunstocks have some of the finest and most reasonbly priced savage gunstocks. There are 5-7 differnt styles from 3 inch wide foreend long range hunting stocks , to thumbhole stocks. They are fiberglass with alumnium bedding blocks, They come either painted or out of the mold ,price varies. I have five of their stocks and they are as nice as anything on the market. Thanks Reed
