Just got the barreled action back from Kelbly's last wed. I had Greg Walley chamber it for me in 284 win. .317 nk, .220 FB. 1.5 deg. lead. Gun shot great during break in with simple fouler loads. 1st 3 fouler/sighter shots all touched low right. After adjusting the scope The remaining 21 foulers chewed out a nice hole on the target with the exception of 2 shots that were the 1st on a clean bore after cleaning. The action is a devcon bedded Stiller Predator V single shot, short action mated to a 31' bartlein 9tw , muscle brake, jewel trigger and Sightron SIII.

Thats what i was thinking because of your free bore.

Do you regret building it on a short action, i imagine you pull the bolt to extract a loaded round?

Not at all, the oversized port of the Stillers allows plenty of room to load a round and also plenty of length to extract a loaded round. You can see the small radius cut on the leading edge of the port that allows this.

Thanks...well I've got quite a bit of 4831sc and just went out and bought 3 jugs of RL17. Will be testing the RL17 this weekend and hopefully get 2950-3000fps in an accuracy node using my lapua brass and cci primers.
