I have a 300 RUM, that wears a factory sporter barrel now, and am thinking of rebarreling up to a 338 RUM. Application would be long range chucks (overkill I know), plinking, and general fun target shooting.

Thinking of 30" length, stainless, and a heavy contour, but help with twist rate and # of grooves would be appreciated for a 338 RUM.

Suggestions?

I have the .338 on the 300 rum case 30" barrel 4 groove 1 in 10 twist Pac nor select match that will shoot 180's thru
300 gr really great.( #5 taper) Shawn Carlock's Edge would work just fine I believe. I have free bore in this rifle and it will get some good vel's and not stick the bolt. Just a thought.
