Had another good hunt in central South Dakota close to the Missouri. Not sure bird numbers were up by much but got our limits each day hunting private property. Very cold. Never got above freezing. All good.

Two "new" Browning A5 16 ga shooting 1 1/8 oz 6's. and one Benelli Ultralite shooting 1 1/4 oz.

The A5's are the new inertia guns (like benelli) and are very like weight. We typically cover 7-10 miles a day walking and they are quite comfortable to carry.

our group did well as well in SD....we were near Mitchell
combination of Benelli's and Beretta's we all shot the
Hevishot Pheasant shells

I just got back from 3 weeks there, driving all over the state. I did not see nearly as many birds along the roads early and late as I did in the spring, but the hunting was decent. Way better than the last few years, anyway.

Hunted north of Brookings on private property, bird numbers up from last year but still a long way to go to match the "good old days".
