My 11 yo son made a great shot at 150 yds. 308 Winchester with 125gr sst. Never took a step. Super proud of him. He's worked hard at range and was prepared. Had a good laugh. As I was checking out the entry and exit he had already covered his own face with blood. He said "I thought I was supposed to do that!"

Congrats! My boy joined the club last weekend too. Wanted a buck, but was about 1/2 hour before we had to head home and he wanted some meat. Great memories and I know he will never forget this one. Thanks for posting and letting me share my proud Dad moment too.

Yeah mine wanted a buck too! But he showed pretty good maturity and let young buck walk and shot a management doe. He wanted tenderloin and biscuits for breakfast.

It's his rifle. Set up for him. Factory model
7 with timney trigger and bell and Carlson stock. I bedded the action and he shoots it great.

Good job kid and dad. Is the stock a bell Carlson youth stock? I'm looking at setting up a gun for my daughter she will be 11 next year and can get her first tag. I was thinking of that stock but also have been thinking about the new savage ultra lite 110.
