Son wants to go spring Idaho, WY or Montana bear hunting

We are looking at relaxing and glassing some animals. He is 12 and loved our first trip out there last year. 5K for a guide is not possible right now but I was wondering about a trespass fee or some directions. We are on a tight schedule but I would like to buy an OTC tag and get him behind some glass looking for animals.

Any help would be great. We are willing to travel since we are coming from Michigan.

Spring bear success can be decided by the weather in many cases... Tight schedules can be a problem... Idaho and the North Western part of Montana have fair bear populations..I don't know about Wyoming... If I had to send someone somewhere I think around ThompsonFalls , Montana would be my guess for an OTC bear...And maybe think around May 10th for a hunt... JMO... Dave

Spring is going to be late in the West. We are getting pounded by snow today again, but the bears should be out soon.

I too agree with mid to late May being a better time. Hit it right before the rut
