Sometimes I hate deciding on a load

Soo. I have a load for my 7SAUM shooting 175 elite hunters. It shoots 2751 1/4moa consistently. BUT I can not find 175s. But I do have plenty 168 vld. So decided I'll make a load for them. Here's my first outing. All 3 shot groups at 100. The last 2 is my 175 load at 100 5 shot group. So do I play with 58.8-59.2 Or go down to 57.9-58.2. 58.8-59.2 velocity stayed really close, shot well but sub par ES/SD. 57.9-58.2 velocity spread was decent, same poi, shot well and nice SD/ES. Thinking load 10 of 58 and 10 of 59

I always stick with the accuracy node. I'd shoot out further for better info though if conditions allow . I like 200 and then adjust scope at 300 for center. A good scale to 100ths and consistent brass prep should bring es/ds down good enough.

Definitely relate to unavailable bullets. I just worked up a new load with Hornady for competition as they seem way more available. Haven't shot at distance yet though so crossing my fingers.

What powder?

Why not shoot 10 at 58.5 and 59.2? and maybe 57.9?

Could have honestly. I chose 58 because of the low SD/ES and was between what seemed to be a node between 57.9 and 58.2. It was a cooler day so chose the lower end of the node. Then the same with 59. Had same velocity between 58.8 and 59.2 so again another node. Honestly 59 may be the better load but it is right at max for my rifle and I'd rather not be that hot. So chose the 58. Both 58 and 59 shot about 1.5" group at 400 with 10 shots. So it shoots plenty good enough for me. It's purely a hunting rifle not trying to win any competitions. I loaded up another 30 that I will confirm out at distance probably next weekend. Suppose to be stupid windy all this week

You live in southwest New Mexico??! Haha they have a saying down here…We don't get tornadoes because the wind blows them away.
Haha. No I'm in Wyoming. I'd rather not live where it's windy all the time but lately it's been windy more often then not.

I would look at the 58.5 to 59.2 area and 57.9 to 58.2 area. Normally I would say forget the chronograph data but you show evidence of being able to produce very repeatable rounds so you might use the average velocity to narrow that higher end load. Don't sweat the SD's as they are all low and most single digit SDs are influenced by the chronograph accuracy.
