Some Wisconsin Gun Owners Think More Regulation Would Be OK.

I was very disappointed to read this article and see quotes by Jeff Recob, Mr. Tennant and others there that we gun owners and the NRA just need to accept some more regulations and curbs on gun ownership, and use. I think they just don't get it. It's not about common sense or common sense gun control or compromise anymore. There is no comprise which will either solve the problem or make the other side happy. You can compromise yourself right into confiscation, and lockdown. It's about power, and political control, and all out mind and body control at this point. If you don't realize that and you think you are being reasonable, and moderate, and trying to work with the other side, you are still living in the 1970's.

The problems we have in this country are not problems that can be resolved with more regulations. They are much deeper. They are heart problems, and mind problems, and world view problems. We have a cultural and societal problem that goes way deeper then making laws and regulations, and at the same time you are saying more gun control, you are yelling defund the police, and everything will be alright, you are just dead wrong. That's just my opinion. I believe we need to resist more regulations, and work on the heart problems, and the mind problems with a lot of resolve and firmness. Starting with our schools, school boards, and our community leaders, and representatives at state and national level. What we need is a good old fashioned 1950's American World View again.

Not more socialism, communism, and marxism........If California, and New York, and Illinois are the poster children for great gun legislation which will cure all of our crime, and violence, then give me Texas!!! And I will go there just like some others I know did
way back.

And I might add that if these men quoted in the article for Wisconsin gun owners believe they can appease the other side, something comes to mind that Winston Churchill said. He said those who appease the Crocodile by feeding it, just hope that it will eat them last.

Appeasement just postpones the terrible crunching that comes later.

Any gun owner favoring more regulations is a traitor, a pox upon them

The subhuman filth that wants to abolish the second amendment can't and will never be appeased and can only be negotiated with after your foot is on their throat and a bayonet is in their face

This is America. People are allowed to have their own opinions and the right to voice those opinions. I think its great that those people have the courage to speak their mind in this age of cancel culture especially seeing as the guy owns a target shop. Remember what happened to the CEO of the Montana Rifle Company? Its far worse now than it was then. The guy has probably had some death threats by now and almost certainly there are people boycotting his business because of it.

Do you mean this guy?

Brings to mind a song by the Who......We Won't Get Fooled Again!

Reasonable people have tried. Nuff Said....

Yes. He built that company and made it what it was and still is to this day. Who did he fool? How was he wrong? What reasonable people?

Interesting quote from the article

"It's a really McCarthyism at its worst," said Bob Ricker, executive director of the American Hunters and Shooters Association, which has endorsed Obama. "That's really why our organization was formed, was to deal with this craziness. If you're a gun owner, but you have a contrary view to some of these wackos, they will go out and try to destroy you."

The cult/tribalism has only worsened. For proof just ready Barney Fife's rant above.

There is no space for being reasonable. You're either fully in the cult or you're the enemy, period. It mentality that signals ignorance and is inconsistent with the principles upon which this country was founded.

Kudos to you @JimFromTN for seeing the need to maintain civility. You are correct.

Your comments on your second post are spot on.

Appeasement, or being "reasonable", with our enemy is not a viable COA, contrary to what Corky said in his little rant.

Last I checked, the right to keep and bear arms is one of the principals that this country was founded on.

Sounds to me like you want to declare war on America and Americans, Barney. Is that the case? Or are they not Americans because they have some different opinions than you?

Calm down Corky, nobody said anything about a declaration of war. Not falling for that bait nor is anyone else here. Nice try though.

I'd say the same to you. You're the one calling your fellow countrymen enemies. But at least you have the awareness to acknowledge that you're desired COA is unreasonable.

Yes I am calling them enemies, and happy to do so.
What is this " desired COA" that you think I have?

I didn't claim to know your desired COA. I simply stated that it must be an unreasonable one based on your own words:

"Appeasement, or being 'reasonable', with our enemy is not a viable COA"

And if you want to consider fellow citizens of this United Stated your enemy because they have different opinions than you, then I would also say that you're not much of an American.
