I have decided to stay caliber centric...308 and 5.56 as far as rifles go...sold the other 243AI rifle. I have a complete package I am selling as a PACKAGE...not interested in breaking it up...trying to fund another project...

Savage Model 12 243 26" 8" TW, Fluted, threaded 5/8 x 24 for muzzle break or suppressor. Turned from LARGE SHANK to SMALL SHANK...it is SMALL SHANK, I have not fired this barrel but I have been told it has less than 100 rounds thru it...bore and throat appear to bear that out. When it was turned down from large to small shank it was re-chambered to .243AI. It is my understanding that its a very accurate barrel.

Factory barrel...pretty sure its stainless, started out as a 6MM Norma BR, recut to small shank, threaded and rechambered almost immediately...8 TWIST

Some have asked, Barrel contour appears to me BIG...LOL...at the shoulder of the threaded portion it measures .998 I dont know if Savage called that bull or not, maybe Palma, Started out as a 6mm Norma BR, Black Ceracoat.

It was another prominent gunsmith in Sturgis SD, not Chad Dixon...this guy did the rethread, rechamber and and reduction to Small Shank. Cant remember his name, work was done about 3 years ago...its sat in my safe for about 2 1/2...I spoke to him and he remembered the job, walked me thru what he did...

OK...look at it this way...LAPUA Brass...OUT OF STOCK or hard to get nearly everywhere...Sierra MK Bullets...hard to get too..., If you do not already have a 243AI and want one you will need dies, a head space gauge, brass, bullets...all that is entailed in this package...buy it...pay shipping and in essence you will end up paying about $100 for this barrel...I have priced it fairly...
