Anybody ever try mounting one near tent as an added precaution for unwelcome night visitors? I saw a few at local Costco and this thought came up for tent defense at night.

I was thinking lower sensitivity so only large objects trip it. Or maybe take care of location to minimize trips like a game camera. If any breeze , it will go on all the time when the tent or anything moves .

All I own have sensitivity adjustments. I also like the noise-only motion alarms. Harbor Freight usually keeps a good supply. Great idea!Anybody ever try mounting one near tent as an added precaution for unwelcome night visitors? I saw a few at local Costco and this thought came up for tent defense at night.

Some in bear country set up an electric perimeter fence powered by battery that is solar charged. Gotta remember NOT to take a late night **** on the fence.... Doubt a standard motion security light would do anything other than allow you to see what is about to eat you. But, a high intensity light like an after market driving light powered by solar charged battery might be interesting. Maybe bright enough to "startle" bears into leaving?? Pointing the light in the precise direction the bear approaches might be an issue. Maybe multiple lights with individual sensors?? Wonder if bears lose night vision in sudden bright light like humans??Anybody ever try mounting one near tent as an added precaution for unwelcome night visitors?
