Hello, I just received my new wind/weather meter from the longrangehunting store and was looking for a little advise. This is my first wind/weather meter. In the directions it says to calibrate the altitude regularly to achieve the best readings but how am I supposed to know what the particular altitude I'm at is when I'm in the field? Do I also need to pack a gps to calibrate it for accurate readings? I have one if need be but don't pack it very often. I searched the forums but didn't find much info on the weather hawk stuff. Thanks

You do not want to calibrate it. You want true station pressure. The altitude reading means nothing to you as a shooter. Just run it from factory settings and input the baro reading you getting from the meter, set altitude at zero in your balistic app

So I have followed everyone's advise and not calibrated my unit but I'm showing 26.92inhg for my barometric pressure. This seems extremely low since I'm at 3300' in Arizona. Station pressure on Shooter shows 30.0. Any ideas?

Baro pressure goes down as you go up. Shooter is probably grabbing info from the nearest weather station. Weather stations use some kind of a corrected baro to uniform readings or something like that. 29.92 is considered "average baro" for sea level, so over 30 at 3,300 feet has to be the corrected baro.

Ok. It just seemed really low to me I guess. I read that the lowest ever was just under 26 so I figured I was getting goofy readings. I'll go shoot and see what my results are like.
