I searched all over trying to make hide or hair of the markings on this pistol. Figured I'd try here. Selling for a gentleman who has decided to thin his collection. He couldn't remember what the Able Annie meant. I think he won it back in 2012. Going to sell but want to know more about the markings first. If anyone has seen something like this or knows, please let me know. Thanks.

Well the 94/1 is probably a military unit with the crossed cavalry swords between, OPND is an acronym for Operand followed by the date. And "Able Annie" was the nickname for the M65 Cannon that fired a 280mm Atomic projectile. So it was probably presented to either the top shot at the unit or as a joke calling that person Able Annie in reference to the M65 Cannon. Just my guess

It's a 1st squadron 94 Cavalry Regiment Operation New Dawn (OND) commemorative pistol. The 2011-2012 was the time they were deployed to OND. I think 1-94 is a National Guard unit.
I'll buy that, good call jbs2014. I was close.....ish

Thank you. SIG used to offer all sorts of stuff pimped out with unit crests and such. I think they even used to offer the .50 that they used to make that could be engraved with a unit crest etc
