Sierra 7mm 175gn Matchking HPBT

I see on the Sierra web site that they list as minimum a 1: 8.5 twist for the 175 grain Matchking bullet.
I have a 1 : 9.25 twist in my Remington SPS, will this stabilise this bullet?


I have used the 180 grain Berger Target VLD out of this rifle and it worked OK out to 1000 yards on targets and performed OK on game out to 400 yards.


I want to use the matchking bullet as a cheaper load to practice with.
Anyone use this 7mm, 175 grain Matchking for hunting?

You can get a way with it in a ultra mag and mabey a win mag but not any thing slower than that has been my experience like a 7-08.

I only know they shoot just fine from my 9.0 twist 7WSM at 2,920 fps, including in the winter.

That is good news, I could not see why they would not stabilise when the 180 grain bergers would.
