Side Arm for Grizzly Country

You guys see where now they won't be using lethal methods on predators that are a problem on public ground, Defenders of Wildlife got to them, to kill a wild they now have to show direct proof they killed the livestock. This is just going to get worse, one of my FWP buddies said we had better start suing the FWP or were going to loose everything!!

When archery hunting in Montana, I carry either a 45 colt or a 500 jrh loaded with heavy hard cast bullets at about 1000 -1050 fps. Manageable recoil and lots of penetration. The 500 jrh needs the barrel cut down to about 5 inches.

I like that 500jrh. I have the same setup only a 7.5" 475linebaugh that I'm going to eventually get cut down to 5"

The recoil on the jrh is not bad at all with a 440 grain bullet at around 1000 fps. Lessthan factory 44 mag recoil I think. Penetration is unbelievable. Not a long range gun with that load so I think a five inch barrel will be about right.
