I'd love to see some lightweight-medium weight Magnum builds you guys have done. Preferably hunting rifles. I've wanted a 7mm Rem Mag for years. I can't tell you why I want that specific cartridge, but my gut won't let me not have it. I hunt eastern Pa where the deer and bear don't need much more punch than my .270 can dish. I'm debating putting a 7mm Mag together from Savage parts this winter to satisfy my craving, but I want it to be practical for my hunting; not overbearing to carry (sub 10lbs scoped), probably heavy sporter weight barrel in the 24-26" category, braked. I want to be able to put it over my shoulder and walk around these tall hills looking for new vantage points. And should a shot at 500-700 present itself, cleanly and confidently take it. My .270win is capable of doing that now, but the 7mm will also be my primary bear rifle, and I want the stopping power that caliber provides.

Fierce Carbon Edge 338 RUM with Nightforce NXS 5.5-22x50. Recoils less than a 30-06 with the Fierce side break. My bear rifle. Awesome for mountain to mountain shots.

Scoped, loaded (4 rounds) and slung, 9 pounds 3 ounces.....375AI! Though, it doesn't have magnum in the name! 🤔 Not sure what it would weigh with a brake.... as it doesn't need one! memtb

this is my 7mag. It's right at 9-9.5 lbs. carbon stock, Remington action and bottom metal, fluted bolt, criterion magnum sporter contour, muzzle break, Trijicon 4-16x50 scope.
Would you mind showing me what the muzzle diameter looks like on your barrel? Preferable brake removed. I'm debating if I want that contour or slightly thinner. Also, how long is your barrel?

I have a poor mans magnum. 338-06 loaded out 8.5 with 22 inch No 3. Shoots 210 TTSX at 2741. Not often you ever recover a bullet. lol

A 7mm Rem mag is available in a Tikka 3x Lite. Without a scope or brake, it weighs in at 6.5 lbs. Adding those 2 items will keep you well under 10 lbs. Not to say, be very accurate, too.

300 RSAUM, Krieger 24"fluted bbl , High Tech stock, trued Remington 722 Action, reworked Rem. trigger set at 2 lbs. Zeiss Conquest 31/2 X 10, Weight 7 1/2 lbs. with MT magazine.
