Bell and Carlson has two stocks available for the Remington 700 that solve many issues that Long Range Hunters have with rifles. One in Long action and one in short, B&C offers a Remington 700 "M40 style" Light Tactical/Hunter that is one of the best all around platforms for long range hunting.
I have personally used the long action model on a Remington 700P in 300WM and found it to be the "Kiss" stock for me. It performs well in a wide variety of positions and has a raised cheek pc that aids in higher objective optics set ups. The stock just flat works well. Not too big, not too small, just right.
