Shooting up & down hill

Simple question.

If my gun is sighted in at 200 yards on level ground and I then shoot 40 degrees up or down hill, does the point of impact change higher or lower?gun)

When shooting up or down, you only correct for horizontal distance to the target.

^^^^ is true. Always aim low. How low depends on angle and distance. Best to use a ballistic cslculator for the most accurate results. Holdover * COS of the angle will get you close but at 40 degrees and 600 yards + it's not close enough.

2 inches high depending on your rifle. Used a 30-06 with 165 gr pill.
