shilen, douglas,kreiger

What caliber? IMO in order of best to worst kreiger, schillen, douglass. That is unless you are talking 22 barrels then I would give schillen the nod. I have been having good luck with Brux and Bartleins also.

The Kreiger is a cut rifled barrel. Douglas and Shilen are button rifled.

I'd say that the Kreiger is a level above the Douglas and Shilen.

I'd also say that Douglas and Shilen are about equal. I have both, and they shoot very well. I wouldn't hesitate to buy any of them.

shilen, douglas, kreigerwho makes the better barrel

There are lots of good barrels available and depending on what you like ( Buttoned or cut
rifling)the choices are Badger,Bartlin,Broughton,Border,Brux,Douglas,Hart,Kreiger,Lawton,
Lothar walther,Lilja, Packnor, and shilen. That I can Think Of.

Cut rifling or buttoned does not matter if the barrel maker holds the tolerance .It is just a
different way of making barrels. I have had both and when they are right they are both
good. Hammer forging is another way to make a barrel but it is expensive.

It really boils down to what you prefer based on cost, quality and delivery time.
