Sherman Wildcat Reloading Data is Here!!!

I haven't finished load development for my 7ss yet. But hunting season got here so I went with what I had. I'm running a 20" paradigm carbon barrel, suppressed.

Once fired, fireformed 7SS brass
175gr Berger Elite Hunters
62.0 gr RL 26
2.900" COAL
2846 Fps with 3.6 SD.
Well under 1/2".

I didn't hit pressure at 62.0, but it was as high as I went in my original ladder and didn't have time to do another. Undecided if I'm gonna try to push it further, because it's hammering as is. 2846 fps and 3.6 SD, probably close to .3" and laying down the animals. 2 deer and 2 hogs down, all bang flops except one deer ran about 20 yards. This is a fantastic cartridge/bullet combo.
Pretty incredible if you think about it.

Idaho Trecker,
Got some load data for you for the 6.5 MAX.
129 gr Absolute Hammer, F210M, RL 26, 68.2 grs, 3451 fps, COAL 3.020, Sherman ADG brass, sd 5, es 11.

123 gr Absolute Hammer, F210M, RL 26, 69.5 grs, 3556 fps, COAL 2.978", ADG Sherman brass.

All with 26" Brux bbl, 1-7.5", Tikka T3x action.

Please post in the spreadsheet for others.
George

I've only had 2 or 3 new data sets PM'd to me since the last update. Mostly 270 Sherman and a little 7max or ss. I'll get that added tomorrow. People NEED to PM me the loads and with that said I dont need the same loads within .2grains of what I already have listed. New bullets and different powders are what I need.
Thanks

Guys be sure to PM Idaho Tracker your data when you post it as per his request. He will then update the spreadsheet when you PM him.

With the standard reamer, what is the distance to the lands on the 7SS? Really looking for max COAL so I can start loading up ladders for when my barrel is done in a few weeks. I purchased the 169 Hammer Hunter to throw out of this 7mm.

Currently have a 338 SS and it is 2.97 or so. I am officially on the Sherman bandwagon 😂

I am going to be putting them in an AICS mag.. So I was hoping to get 2.950 at max. I have been seeing a lot of loads where people are seating for a COAL at 2.89-2.92. Was just hoping that 2.950 was achievable, especially since the 169 HH are pretty long for weight.

Probably not much help, but my 300 Sherman fireform load:

300 Sherman

Fed 210gmm primers; Peterson 280 AI brass (72 gr h20 estimated); H4831SC 57.6; Berger #30414 190 VLD Seated 0.010" into lands(CBTO = 2.730")

Brass prep: Expand to 8mm...two steps; Size to close bolt with light force...my CBTD was like 2.123", but fired case are more like 2.159"...maybe the false shoulder is not required.

Long term, I'm guessing I can run this at like 65000 psi with formed brass, right? I need to develop that load next.

I would love to hear more about the that 7ss jda2631 built. How are you liking that paradigm barrel? Are you happy with the 20"? If you could do it over again would you choose a 20" barrel? Thanks.
Sorry, haven't been on here in awhile. I love the 20" barrel, run it suppressed full time with TBAC ultra 7. It balances super well and doesn't "feel" like a suppressed gun (meaning not front heavy and feel like you're trying to get around with a 7ft long pole), no issue getting in and out of vehicles, side by sides, or blinds. And I'm still getting 2850 with a 175gr bullet. I haven't done a second ladder to see where pressure was, I may later in the year before hunting season, but I don't really see any need right now. I had never used, or really even heard much of anything, about paradigm barrels they were just the only one I could get at the time. No one could give me a timeframe for a 20" 7mm Proof blank. Talked to the guys at PVA, they were huge fans of paradigm barrels and they can be cut to any length, don't have to buy the specific length blank like you do with a proof.

Only reason to go longer is if you are wanting more velocity for some longer range shots or better wind cutting ability. I built this as kind of a "do all" rifle for inside 4-500 yards. I'm in the south east, not a lot of wind here. Could not be happier with the end result.

Broke in and fireformed a 30 SM for a customer. Here is the fire form load I tried. 74g 7828SSC, 220 SMK, Fed 215, ADG and a BTO of 2.960. MV was 2855 in this rifle. It was a very smooth load. I may push some 220 SMK's harder to find the best load. Just some fire forming info for this rifle. It may not work in others. Good shooting to all.

I have a 7 SS, but how does the 28 Sherm Mag compare to the 7mm Practical wrt case capacity, case OAL, neck length, and bolt face?
