Will be hunting sheep and elk in high country.
Taking a new 06 on this hunt have shot deer with it.
Looking for a 165-200gr load that would work for both in open
country mountainious country.
Steep angle shoots, along with long range
The rifle is 22" barrel stainless mountain rifle putting on a muzzle break.
The higher BC on the heavier has a strong advantage over the lighter bullets
cross winds and open country..
What are your thoughts.........

After studying the ballistics for my last two 30-06's with 22" barrels, I settled on the 180 grainers as the best compromise of bullet weight, velocity, and retained energy out to 600 yards. Either the Barnes TSX or Nosler's Accubond paired with H-4350 will give you an honest 2800 fps in the 22" tubes.
