Have a new Redding Type S full length die with appropriate bushing.

I have it set up to bump the shoulder ever so slightly. My problem is, only about half the length of the neck is getting sized. Brass is trimmed to spec.

I tightened down the top spindle until it touches the bushing then back off 1/16 of a turn as instructed.

Redding die instructions only say you can adjust the bushing to size a portion of the neck, but don't say how to adjust it. I am assuming it is with the spindle, but to get MORE neck sizing I would need to have the bushing tight to the die with no play.

Help?

You are using the bushing die correctly. I don't loosen a full 1/16th, just enough to make sure the bushing is not tight. There is a small amount of neck that won't be sized. That unsized portion of the neck may help center the case in the chamber enhancing accuracy.
