*** is this anoying pop up all over the screen of my phone EVERYTIME I swich from thread to thread while I'm on LRH? It's a big black thing with a little red "x" button (that doesn't work...I tried). I gotta hit cancel, then it immediately pops back up, & I have to repeat the prosces 3 more times before it goes away!
This is what it tells me.

SECURTITY WARNING
THE NAME OF THIS SITE DOES NOT MATCH THE NAME OF THE CERTIFICATE

Now, I did read a post this morning about a vallentines present, & clicked on the link. Nothing strange, except it was a link to an air soft rifle.
Then edd (an LRH member) replied that the origional poster was an "add bot"
Not knowing anything about add botts, I posted a reply asking edd how I could tell if I was answering a robot or a person?
Shortly there after that whole thread dissappeared & my phone (wich is how I access LRH) got this @$%&$##%% pop up warning.
Now I'm ****ed!
Can anyone tell me what is goin on, or how to fix this? I'm not tech savy at all.
Thanks

The link in the post you referred to was typical of that kind of computerized scam. I checked the link in reference to some data that Len and I are tracking. It did nothing to my system and it's one that I've looked at before when tracking this type of trash.

As to the complete thread disappearing.............wellllllll I've got this little "magic wand" that Len gave me and poof, the trash was gone. :):)

I access the site several times daily with my phone, and did today, and have no problems.

What kind of phone and what operating system?

Thanks Dick.
I've got an HTC Inspire thru AT&T.
I just checked, (mamma directed me to try this) & when I'm connected to the internet at the house the warning doesn't pop up. However when I disconnect, & am using my "phone service data plan" the add comes up again. So its gotta be my service provider I guess.
Thanks for putting my mind at ease. I was worried my phone had some computer bug, & was going belly up. I'm happier now.

That wand thing sounds neat:D

I've got an HTC Evo through Sprint and it doesn't matter if I'm on my home network or on dial up, I never get a notice like that.

Yup, the wand is neat. Len is sure a trusting guy. :)

Is happening to another websites?

Does the warning for the certificate give you a continue option?

Call customer service and tell them you want Tech Support. Do not mess with them on their questions, go directly tech support.

How long have you had the phone?

The phone maybe need to be wiped or erase the settings.

Save all your contacts and photos to your sim card.

Once you wipe the phone and erase the settings you will loose anything that is not save to the sims card.

Give me a minute and I will post another option that you can try right now. I will give you step by step on how to erase the web history of the phone.

1. go to internet

2. go to menu

3. go to settings

4. go to "More"

5. go to settings

6. if you see "Block Pop Up Windows" make sure the box is checked

7. go to clear cache

8. go to clear history

9. go to clear all cookie data

10. if this does not work. go back to step 5 and look for "Reset to Default" Only do this as a last step.

I tried clearing the phone by earasing history, erasing casche, erasing cookie data, erasing location etc.
Then I ran history eraser on it twice, then advance task killer, then did a phone restart.
Still hapening. There are no options to contact tech support.
The warning gives me 3 options,
Close, view certificate, & cancel.
Close works best so far. Only have to hit close once per everytime I view another thread, vs cancel wich I have to hit 4 times in a row before the warning quits popping up.
I'll go strait into AT&T tomorrow, & have them look at it.
I'd hate for my phone to cause issues here on LRH !
If its fixable, they should know how I'm guessing.
Thanks for the help guys.

I dont believe the site is using a certificate. Sounds like you have a problem on your phone. I am currently connected to the site through just the play Hyper-Text-Transfer-Protocal (HTTP)... Maybe a Phone Wipe?

Porn is great until it slows down your ability to do other things. It can also get addicting my friend. With porn comes malware :)

Haha, no, none of that. I don't want mamma to shoot me:D

Google. LRH is set as a "bookmark" on my favorites list, so all I have to type on Google to get here is the letters "lon" & it comes up. I don't even type the whole word longrangehunting.

My wife does all my clearing out, & wiping out, & cache cleaning, history erasing stuff. I don't know how.
If it wasn't for my wife showing me how to Google LRH on my phone, Id go back to an "Ahmish phone" that only made phonecalls. This computer phone stuff is Way outa my league. But pretty cool when it works.
