secrets of straightening a barrel

Sorry wrong terminology, I mean when they dial in the barrel to start cutting the chamber. As they square the barrel into the machine isn't alot of torque put on the barrel sometimes.

I am kinda looking for answers more than anything. I was there when Nate, Richard S., and Donovan were visiting and Nate was explaining how he uses his new range rod to dial in a barrel. Way way over my head.
