Looking for some ideas in regards to a scope for a 300 Norma Mag that I'm putting together. This will ge a hunting rifle, around 9 pounds without the scope. I'll use it for shooting steel up to 1000 yards. I don't see myself shooting further than that. I've been looking at the NF SHV 5-25x 56. I have a Vortex PST Gen Ii on a 6.5 Creedmoor that I like, just not sure how it'll do with recoil
Impulse and holding zero. Budget $1800 tops. Any input greatly appreciated.
Thanks in adavance,
H

I spent a little time behind an SHV and the glass was pretty poor, if going NF the NXS is a great choice.
Here's a killer deal on a demo

While you didn't state which mag range you'd like or whether you prefer MIL or MOA, FFP or SFP, i'll take a crack at your question.

I'll vote for the Burris XTR III in 3.3-18x50 FFP/MOA.

I have two in 5.5-30x but you're trying to stay light so 18x being 6oz lighter it is. Tough as nails & surprisingly good glass.
