Please help on a couple of things......I am going with a 4.5x14x40 Leupold VX-3 scope for my rifle. This will be used for target shooting and coyote hunting, my question is.......should I go with an Adjustable Objective on this scope or no ? I will be possibly shooting out to 400-500 yards.

Also, this is being mounted on a Remington model 700 Sendero , which has a heavy barrel. I want the scope as close to the barrel as possible.......I need to know what Leupold rings to go with. Will low rings work, or will I have to go with medium rings ?

Thanks guys.

I would personally opt for a side focus instead of the AO. Reaching up while your on the gun to turn the AO is a pain.

If your using STD Leupold mounts, you need to get the medium rings. You didnt specify LR on your scope so I'm assuming 1" tube as opposed to 30mm?

Any scope over 10 or 12 power should have an AO or side fucus adjustment on it
