Started this project earlier this year, ordered all the parts along with the donor Savage 111 FCNS at the end of March and now have all the pieces put together.
I only had the chance to shoot a dozen shots through it so far, but accuracy is promising!! Can't wait to get out and do some more fireforming/practice with this rig!
Parts include:
Savage 111 action (30-06 originally with detachable mag)
Shilen SS Select Match 6mm AI 1in8" twist finished at 28"
SSS comp recoil lug, SS barrel nut, SS Tactical bolt handle, and LVT stock in black black blue
Sightron SIII 8-32x56 with Target dot
EGW 20 moa picatinny rail
Burris Sig Zee 30mm rings
Loads are as follows:
87 gr V-Max over 48 gr H4831 to fireform WW 6mm brass, WLR primers. Will also be shooting 105 gr Berger VLD's but don't have a load worked up yet...will do this once I get some ackleyized brass
My 260 AI barrel should be arriving this week as well...gonna be a great winter of shooting!
