I need to know what the firing pin protrusion should be and also what is the compressed length of firing pin spring on a Savage single shot target action....I think it should be the same as a mod. 12-16
Any info on these bolt specs would be helpful

Thanks

The rule of thumb on firing pins is .010" shorter than the diameter of the firing pin. A high pressure round can run a little less. I like to see a min of .055" to .065" max best reliability. I couldn't tell you the compressed length of the firing pin spring without measuring it. Stick to factory firing pin and springs and you should have any ignition issues unless your protrusion length is too short.

I just did one on a savage and set it at .055 and have no issues. Make sure it is round at the end..
