I am swapping barrels on my savage 110 for the first time. I have lapped the contact points between the barrel/ nut/ and action. I plan to lap the bolt lugs. I will run the gun sans ejector ( for a while). Is there anything else I can do at home while the rifle and bolt assembly are apart?

If you have a barreled action you can glass bed and pillar the stock.

And don't forget to replace the factory recoil lug.

+1! Forget lapping it, for $30 you can replace it with a precision machined recoil lug that is thicker too. >>> .240"/.250" .
