I just ordered a savage model 12 benchrest in 6br with 8" twist. Is there a load this rifle tends to like for 600 yard shooting ?
I know every gun is different, but would like some suggestion on at starting load for this gun. I would like to use the obvious 105-107 gr range.

Start around 27 grains of Varget or RL15 and work up. Max is around 29.5 grains. I am fooling around with H4895 also, but not getting the MV over 3 grand yet.

start out with AA2520 @ 28.0 grains and a 107 grain Sierra bullet. This is a fairly hot load, but can be worked up slowly for close to 3000fps (find a copy of Precision Shooting Jan. 1997 for Johnson's data)

107 SMK's over 30.5 grains of Varget is what I would consider a "standard" 6mm BR load. I seat .017 off lands. I get less than 1/2 MOA out of my LRPV.
