I can't find the 111 LRH in 338 Lapua on Savage's website. Did they quit building them? And if they did why?

I saw that they had the 110. I own a 111 in 338 Lapua, and was concerned as to why they are not on Savage's website anymore.

So the 110 and the 111 are the same actions?

Yes, however, there might be slight differences in action screw spacing and bolt release mechanisms (top or bottom) depending on the manufacturing year and it can affect your stock choices ...

Are Savage 110 and 111 stock interchangeable..JPG

Do you have a specific issue/problem with your LRH 111 LRH in .338 LM?

Brass sticking in chamber, but there are several things that can cause this. The main concern is that Savage doesn't show the 111 in 338 Lapua anymore, and I thought maybe there was a serious problem with the rifle. I thought they quit making it because of some serious problem or problems.

As per #5 response, that is not the case. So your real concern then is brass sticking. I suggest providing as much information (actual load, measurements, pressure signs, did you have the same problem with when you first got it, factory ammo vs loaded, virgin brass vs x times fired brass) on this thread or start a new thread highlighting your problem for best visibility and response.

As you said, it could be a lot of things, i.e., head-space issue, etc ....

Or do a search that is similar to yours like >>> https://www.longrangehunting.com/threads/savage-11-111-338-lapua-case-sticking-problems.90207/

Good luck!

No, I thought I fixed the problem when I switched to 300 grain Bergers. I have received several suggestions that I want to try. One of them is to make sure there is no resizing lube on the case. I own a few old military rifles that were packed in cosmoline, and know from experience that that stuff can cause problems with extraction. So thinking case lube may be doing the same thing.

So took the rifle out today after scrubbing the bore and chamber. I even polished a few rounds with never dull. First shot locked up. Chrono said 2700 fps. The case looks like somebody just barely wiped it with 36 gritt sand paper from the shoulder to the case web. Stiff bolt lift, but primer is not flattened out. No ejector marks.

It's likely that no further discussion is required, in which case we recommend starting a new thread. If however you feel your response is required you can still do so.
