Savage 110 ba 338 queston?

I am planning on purchasing on of these and could use some advice. Ive never shot anything larger than a 300 WM and wonder how accurate these Savages are. For those of you that shoot or shot these, can bullets be loaded to touch the lands (or at least close) and still fit in the Mag? Also, would it be worth it to bed the action and lap the lugs? Any help is appreciated.
