I was wondering if anyone had experience with these two models in 6.5x284?

I am wondering if the 26" barrel in the 111 will have a true impact on velocity or is the break an add on to a 24" barrel?

Basically will it perform better over the 110 predator?

Also I would like to know what barrel contours each model have?

Muzzle end Diameter?

Thanks everyone

I have the LRH in 6.5x284. The barrel is actually 24", add two more for the break. I'm getting the about the same velocity as my 26" Cooper, 2950-3000 FPS. The barrel diameter at the muzzle is about .73". The predator barrel has a larger diameter. I really like my LRH. Shoots ..25-.5 MOA with 140 Berger Hunting VLD's. Recoil with the break feels like a 243 or lighter.

Thanks for the reply on barrel diameter and velocity.

Has anyone had experience with the 110 Predator in 6.5x284.
Does the velocity rival the above post since the truley are both shooting a 24 inch barrel?

I had a 111 LRH 6.5 x 284 ordered but found a 6.5x284 in a model 116 special edition. It is a stainless steel model with fluted bull barrel. Pretty little rifle, black accustock, accutriger, but a deep throat. My buddy is still waiting on 260 rem in the 111LRH.

I have less than 100 rounds through it but what I have shot I get pressure signs at 2900 and up with 50g h4350 and 54g h4831. I don't think this rifle will shoot 2900 plus without pressure issue's.

Berger 140 VLD match with .537 bearing surface gave me a 3 shot 200 yard group of .63 with a horrible scope. I was .015 off the lands. Not much bullet seating in the neck.

Berger 140 VLD hunters have a bigger bearing @ .562 and I could NOT get them to group.

Hornady Amax, same deal. Not shooting well right now.

I am using Lapau brass btw. fed 210 primers.

Seems like I can get 2750- 2850 fps without many issues. 48g-49g 4350 and 52-53g 4831.

I am going to stop shooting this rifle until I replace the scope. Shooting at 100 yards seems pointless with this rifle and bullets.

You can very likely pick up 50+FPS going with 57-59 gr. of Retumbo with 140 Berger VLD's, Lapua brass, Fed 210M primers. I load .072" off the lands. I get 2975 FPS out of my Savage LRH, with .25-.5MOA.

Is that a pretty stable powder? The reason I ask is that the temps here right now are in the 10's and when I left to go shoot last weekend it was -7. Hunting wolves the past couple of weeks the temps have not gotten above 12 F.

I am learning so my knowledge is limited to 3006, 308, and 220 swift. It is only mediocre at best. Those rifles all shot .5 or less at 100 for shots out to 300. This rifle is going to be used for LRH.

Oh and what caused you settle at .072 off the lands? I was thinking .100 to .050 will be where I wind up to get enough bullet in the neck.
