Here's a salvage build of used parts purchased from various members of LRH forum. Only part not purchased here was the Remington X mark trigger that I had left over from actions in the past and the scope. Ordered a Trigger tech today. Remington 700 shorty, Bartlein 24" 308 win barrel, Christenson stock. 3 shot group at 100 yards was the first group of handloads 168 grain Berger vld 46 grains of IMR 4350 and CCI br2 primer. I did shoot 5 Remington 150 grain corelokts to get on paper. I'm thinking a black Cerakote.

If you add some home made doodads to it, it would be like a rifle version of a "Rat Rod". JK ;) Its amazing what some people can pull off with parts just "laying around". Great job and enjoy. BTW, great shooting!

Nice build! Black would give it a menacing look alright. I always got a 308 kicking around, its the father of all my favorite cartridges and very accurate. Good Looking target too.

Went with Graphite Black Cerakote, tossed Remington trigger out and installed Trigger Tech Primary, never lightened one all the way but the directions said turn in minimum of 3 clicks. All I can say is wow!!!! I slammed bolt numerous times with no fail to cock, and dropped several times from a foot high on fire and no accidental firing(on empty chamber)
Tried out my favorite whitetail bullet a Speer 130 grain hp varmint, usually drop deer in tracks. 53 grains of H380 compressed, CCI Br2 primer about 3100 FPS too hot out to drag crono out. 1/2" grid squares first shot surprised the crap outta me next 2 did well still under 1/2"!!! Going to load trigger up a bit to 2# as it's breaking at 1.4,1.6,1.4,1.4,1.3#
