we hunt in 324 in S/W montana which offers only 2 non resident tags for deer . Still no luck to draw a tag after 20 years . Deer numbers here have definitely declined over the last 20 years and according to the local Bioligest, it's a combo of winter kill and lack of feed . Predators are also a major factor . We hunt elk hard but would like to find a better deer unit close by to hunt deer for 5 days then return to finish trip hunting elk . I'd like to see 20-30 deer a day and mid nov , find the does , the bucks should be close by . Anyone have any thoughts about S/W units ?
