Ken Rockwell: "My D7100 is an awesome camera, with ultra-sharp images and great colors; better colors and better LCD accuracy than any of the D4, D800, D800E or D600 I bought last year! ... The D7100 is new in that it has an ordinary 24 MP sensor, but without an anti-alias filter for added sharpness... To my amazement, my D7100 focuses much better in low to no light than my D600!" http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/d7100.htm
The 2 Lenses:
Nikon AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5 - 5.6G ED lens
Ken Rockwell: "It's sharp, doesn't have much distortion, zooms easily to any exact setting focuses silently, closely and reasonably fast... I'm impressed: it's sharp at all apertures and focal lengths all over the frame. I can't find any real fault with this lens... It also is quite free from lateral chromatic aberration, called "purple fringing." http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/1855.htm
Nikon 70-210mm f/4-5.6 AF-D lens w/ HN-24 hood. (There is an inferior non-D version they made also).
Ken Rockwell: "This is a very sharp lens under almost all conditions. This is unusually good performance for any zoom lens... Because it focuses so much more quickly than any other telephoto zoom this side of the f/2.8 professional models its used price has skyrocketed to around $500... It is extremely well made. It's from the same family as the 35-70/2.8 zoom. It has a great solid metal filter thread, metal jacket over one half of the lens barrel, and assembled with screws, not mushed together plastic." http://www.kenrockwell.com/nikon/7021056.htm

I like the option to have the video mic turned off or on.

(Youtube. - Be sure to click on the 1080 resolution cog button - and start the video again for highest resolution quality. - And, though it is 60fps, I noticed that Youtube coverts it to 30fps or less n looks jittery. Original video looks very smooth on PC.)
