RE: Ryegate Gun Club, Ryegate, Montana

Dear Len,

I am attaching a photo taken of our 1928 Montana Civilian Rifle Team on the range which we use today. That butte backstop is our logo.

In early 2009, several of us shooters in the area approached the ranch owning the land and consummated a 99 year lease on 166 acres for the purpose of a shooting range and allowing us to make any improvements whatsoever in constructing facilities therefore. We feel very blessed in being able to use the land and very carefully respect the owner's use of the land for cattle grazing from time to time.

The Ryegate Gun Club was formed as a social club with NRA membership encouraged. Range liability insurance cost is covered each year by the raffling of a rifle so the annual membership dues can remain at a low $15. A huge initial fundraising has provided us a solid financial base and future.

From the main shooting position, there are marked out ranges of 50, 100, 200 and 300 yards. We have just completed two more shooting positions at 600 yards and 1,000 yards each equipped with a solid benchrest table and a picnic table. We are attracting new shooters because of the long range facilities.

Ryegate is located in central Montana, just 62 miles NW of Billings.

Membership inquiries and match schedule questions should be emailed to: [email protected].

With best regards and safe shooting,

Jon M. Englert, Range Officer

Cool, I love the old photo. Good to know of aother range in Montana.

Ryegate is also where Agustis ranch holds their long range shoots. Aug has steel all over that ranch to past 1900 yards.

Looks like Regate has lots of long range shooting opertunities.

Thanks for the post.

Jeff
