Not exactly long range related, but there is a lot of collective knowledge on here that I'd like to tap into. I just picked up a T/C Encore in 45 cal blackpowder, and the barrel was sorely neglected. It is rusty and pitted. I've tried the usual cleaning methods of hot soapy water, traditional powder solvents, foaming bore cleaners, and even a brush on a drill, but it still looks like a WV dirt road inside. Is there any way to salvage this thing, or should I cut my losses and just swap it out?

JB bore paste or Iosso will clean up the surface rust but whether the pitting will hurt a sabot is doubtful. Clean it, shoot it and see. Bet will be fine unless it is severely corroded. If no JB use Arm and Hammer tooth paste.
