What initially drew me to the Rugged Ridge Exteme Pod was the ability to add optional leg extensions for seated shots. The overall design, material and construction quality is outstanding. The unique ball and socket design gives extremely smooth operation and a very wide range of movement. The leg length can be adjusted silently with one hand. Quickly take it on and off standard picatinny rails with its finger-tightened bracket. Whether you plan to shoot prone or seated, the Rugged Ridge Extreme Pod is an outstanding bipod for precision shooting.

For most folks the 7-10" version will be comfortable for prone shooting and shooting off a bench. For larger folks with deep chests and/or bellies who can't get down quite as low the 10-14" version may be preferred.

Are they carbon fiber legs?

What is the total length possible for this ? Long enough for sitting ?
Yep. The leg extensions are 17.5" and designed for sitting. There are two bipod length options 7-10" and 10-14" so add the leg length to those to get the total length.

Either version will work for seated shots with the leg extensions. Most people go with the 7-10" version. I think of the 10-14" version being for big guys with thick chests and/or bellies who can't get down as low when shooting prone.
