Gentlemen and Ladies,
I am not a real LR shooter but my son is becoming one.
Much of the information found on this site is very interesting.
Now for the question, Has anyone here mounted a bipod on a #1 and had success with it?
Should I just use my old way of position shooting?
I have confirmed kills at 505, 615 and 698 yards with no bipod but can miss a coyote at 148 yards clean. Thank You for any help.

#1 is a break action rifle right? I would think a bipod on a non floated barrel would be bad bad juju.

No actual experience with it though.

The #1 is rugers version of a falling block action. It carrys a two piece stock, buttstock and forestock.
I am not sure if a bipod would ruin the accuracy of the rifle or not. I have always fired the rifle using standard shooting positions with no sling support.
My joints are rotting away due to severe RA and getting into propper shooting positions is becoming harder and harder for me to do. I was worried about the bipod because the stock is not one piece.

Thank you for your reply Bishop.

I would say try it and see, can't do any harm. I have always shot my #1 over a pack or with a short pair of shooting sticks I made specificly for it.
