I've got a 28" Bartlein 9 twist barreled 7-300 win mag. Picked up a box of 180g ELDMs. Have H1000/Retumbo and RL26 on hand. Having trouble finding some data for RL26. Anyone here have some helpful data to pass along?

depending upon alot of variables with the 180 i would start at 70 and work up i just finished one and the sweet spot is 72.8 RL26 and ADG brass FED215

Yes I have seen that thread from ballistic studies, but it doesnt list any RL26 data. Only H1000 and Retumbo. I was thinking of starting around 70g with RL26. I use H1000 with the 162 AMAX and it shoots like a house a fire at 75.5g @ 3175fps. Just wanted to try something new as I've been shooting that load same H1000/162 AMAX load since day 1.

I'm looking for 3000fps with 1/2 MOA or better with an ES of 20 or less. I know H1000 is the go to powder for consistency and accuracy, but it leaves a little velocity on the table, which is why I would like to try RL26. Also, how is RL26 with temperature swings? That's also another reason I love H1000, it's just a very consistent powder across the board, but you give up 100fps or so. I will definitely be trying the 180s with H1000 as well...

You will easily get over 3,000 fps as the 7 Rem Mag will do that with a 180. As for accuracy, the 180 ELD M shoots well for me at .020 off the lands. That's where I started with it and haven't messed with it since accuracy has been very good for me.

I run a bartlein 3B contour barrel on my 7x300wm with a 28 inch tube. Nosler brass, CCI 250 primer with 73Gr RL26. Pushes a 180 Berger right at 3150FPS. COAL is 3.6 if I remember correct. That's on the top end of pressure. I would work up from 66 grains To be safe.

Colestaton on the forum here has been testing 7-300wm since November. Maybe shoot him a pm
He bought my old reamer and probably has it shooting better than I did :)
