Rifle cartridge build ideas?

Looks like you made your decision. From what I can find the 7 IHMSA is going to hold around 12-15% less than a 7-08 which holds 52 grains of water. So range the 7 IHMSA will hold 45.76 to 44.2 grains of water.

The 6mm Dasher would be close with 41 gr of water.

Interesting to follow your progress, Keep us informed.

I'm thinking that I should confirm what those dies actually are and offer them up since the odds of my using them is virtually nil. Would there be any interest in them? RCBS die box marked "7mm Int'l" or close to that. Believe that they're RCBS dies but it's been literally a decade since I opened the box. If there's interest I get some pics posted.

Looks like it's going to depend on if they are 7mm Int'l or 7mm Int'l Rimmed dies. The former looks to be based on the .300 Savage case while the latter is based on a .30-30 case.

7 x 47 Lapua is a great cartridge! I have a buddy that built one and loves it. He shoots the 120 Tripple Shock for deer.

Day Two testing. H322 powder, WLR Primer, R-P cases. 160gr Sierra Gameking. Magneto speed

35gr
2633fps, ES-7, SD-3.8. Very nice initial three shot group right out of the gate. I shot 10 on paper but these first three I didnt want to spoil. Pictures below.

36.5gr
2691fps, ES-21, SD-8. Pretty nice group but I had a flyer and I was stringing my shots. In my defense it was a little chilly here today.

37gr
2711fps, ES-33, SD-13.5. Had a decent group going then noticed the magneto had slipped way forward and was sort of hanging onto the threads. Shots went way high. I also started seeing some pocked primers but no flattening or stiff bolt lift. May just need a sleeved pin and bolt head.

Pretty happy with my new Crimson Trace scope. Very clear, reticle takes some getting used to but it tracks well. I wouldn't take it to a PRS match but it's a good purchase for a GP scope.
