Two of us retired guys are thinking of going on a shoe string. Pickup and small pull behind trailer.

We don't know where and when and how to get our licenses. Which is the best state to hunt and what are our chances of getting licenses? What do they cost for prong horns & mules?

Can you hunt on ranches and pay trespass fees? I had friends that hunted Wyoming like that years ago.

How about helping out a couple of old fogies.

hello joe, you must make a choice on a state out west. they are the greatest thrill a eastern hunter can do. all the game rich country you can handle! you should start now. call game commissions,read,internet,and ask other hunters who have hunted western states. outdoor shows this winter! I've hunted Wyoming&Montana and license fees are high for non-residents. 300.00+ antelope&350.00+ for deer. special drawings are 500.00+ for each. elk can be 1000.00+. my diy hunts to central Wyoming run 1600-2000.00 +license fees. this is motel, meals gas&extras. be prepared for any road trouble pulling a trailer 2000 miles. I'ts ahunters paradise and makes memories for ever! good luck! Dskiper
