I hate to do it but I am putting up the first rifle I ever bought with my own money to fund a custom build. This rifle was ridiculous when I bought it for hunting whitetails in Georgia but it just spoke to me. It is a 1998 Remington Sendero SF in 7mm STW, which had just been introduced in Remington rifles. Of all places to find it, it was in my local Wal-Mart. It sat there for about 3 months while I looked at other gun shops convinced I could find a better price. I couldn't even find another one anywhere in Georgia. Of course, there was was a reason I couldn't find another one in Georgia: it was a BEAST at the time. I spent a lot of the money I earned working in the cantaloupe field that summer but she was mine.
Anyway, I purchased the rifle in August of 1998 brand new. I loved it. It was different from anything else anyone had and always got compliments. It also simplified "long range" hunting since 500 yards was unheard of for hunting whitetails then. "Just hold it a foot and a half over their back and pull the trigger!" Well, I never missed a deer with it but never had to shoot past 125 yards. Every deer I shot was dead right there. Other than 3 deer, I have shot it less than 60 times. I think I still have every box of ammo I shot through it and the vast majority of the brass. I think I also have 2 boxes of brand new factory ammo that I would include with the rifle.
The rifle is in pristine condition. It was always kept in either a case or a safe and never saw any rough conditions. I would dare say it is the most pristine 1998 STW you could find. Nonetheless, the Remington museum isn't calling for it and I hate to see it just sitting in a safe when I know it longs to be back home, out West, performing. I have gotten older and wiser since high school and have a perfect whitetail rifle in mind but this has to go first. Help a brother out! I would like to get $1,200.00 for the rifle and the ammo. I will add pictures as soon as I can. Thanks for looking.
