welcome you are !!! keep us informed k? got two #5 conture bbls myself ones a 338 ss/douglas & the others a 30/06 ss/hart ,yes try them all, haven't tried a bartlein though,cheers.

You need to try a bartlein. My smith usually does Shilens, Krieger. He said the bartlein was one of the straightest barrels he has every has on his lathe. Not knocking any other barrel manufacturers but he was impressed. Can't wait to have this gun done. Probably going to be a while. Last gun took 7 months. Which was understandable he is busy.

Yeah we will have to compare. I have lots of load development to do for two other rifles so I will be busy. Time will fly by.
