I was poking around the Remington site, and looking at their offerings. It looks like most of their 700 rifles are no longer offering the 7mm RUM. I think you can still get one from then in their custom shop, but I don't think their standard rifles chamber it anymore.

Is Remington pulling the rug out from under the 7mm RUM?

I would look at the 28 Nosler. Remington has a habit of letting their cartridges languish. Look at that most drooled over 6.5s of all time the 260 Remington. What a joke, all they make it in is a model 7 woods gun. LOL. Oh and my favorite mistake the 300 RUM. Like how they support the ammo and brass on that one. Only one of their mags that works and they chamber the most is the 7 RM.

I'm not looking, I just finished a 280ai build.

A dude was trying to find a load for a 7mm RUM, but said his rifle had a 9.5 twist. I couldn't believe it, so I went looking on the Rem site, but it looks like they were all discontinued (Sendero included).

Anyway, 9.5?!?!@ What were they thinking in the first place? That's what's wrong with factory rifles I guess?

They also did the same thing with the STW...Several times.

That is a lot of what's wrong with factory barrels and factory rifles. They only build them to handle whatever the heaviest bullet they load in THEIR factory offered ammo. So, if the biggest 7mm they offer is a 160-class bullet, then 9.5" twist is sufficient.

A friend asked for help on a load for this caliber. I also checked the Rem site and found only 1 offering. A load with 168 Bergers would shoot MOA at best regardless of our efforts. Perhaps Remington is tweaking for rerelease. My friend thinks he will sell his or rebarrel.

Where does it say they are discontinued? The Sendero is listed with the 7 RUM as an option.

my 7rum ( bdl ss lh )is very happy with either 180 sierra or 175 hdy pills pushed by enough retumbo to get to just under 3100 fps... It also likes the 168 berger seated out with rl50 under the pill. A previous 7rum was an absolute hammer with 140 sierra pills and enough rl25 to get the pills to nearly 3500 fps. The 'chute came out around 800 yards out, but inside of that stuff was dead quick...
