Well I got a load developed for my daughters 243, it's a early to mid 2000 Remington 700 has a tuned trigger, just the factory shorty plastic stock, put on an 4-20x50 Argos hmr rifle scope. I bought it off the classifieds hear. Anyways it shoots very well. Short barrel pushing the 90g Sierra game changers to 2935 with varget win cases and cci200. I ha e a box of 500 of the bullets 8lbs of varget to share with her moms 308. I have a cousin that has a fresh 8lb keg of varget with no guns so if I run low before I can get more he will help me out. What do you guys think should I shoot more with different powder to get more speed? It's shooting less then 1/2 moa. I have a full pound of 6.5stabil, ton of h4350, rl23, rl16. Or should I just shoot it.

I prefer 4350 burn rate of powder in the .243 with 70-95gr bullets. My go to powders in my 243 barrel were IMR 4350 and IMR 4451. I was able to achieve 3350fps with 87gr VMAXs and 3220fps with 95gr Berger Classic Hunters. If you want more speed these powders will do it and so will H4350 and RL16. However, the rifle shoots really well with Varget and if you don't need more speed then leave it be.

As long as you aren't getting pressure signs... don't change a thing. If for some reason you have to change or start load development over, go with the H4350. It's slower burning than Varget and better suited for overbore vs say a 308.

If it shoots like that, it's good for youth hunting. If she really enjoys hunting and shooting, you might look for more distance with different loads and who knows, maybe a regular sized rifle down the road that goes way out there. Hope she really loves it.
I think for now we will just shoot it since it shoots good. No pressure at all. It's a Remington 700 so I can always put a new stock on it when she grows, also new barrel when she gets bigger maybe a 260ai or 7-08ai or something bigger who knows. For now we will run it like this with the factory stock and the factory short barrel. I don't think her shots are going to be more then 200yards till she get shooting more.

You'll probably be able to pick up a solid 300fps going to a different powder that's a little slower burning like H4350, RL-23, H4831 or StaBall6.5. All of the powders I've listed will give an easy 3200fps or more. You could pick up a pretty easy 150fps by going to a full power load of Varget. It should be able to give you just over 3100fps with those 90's.
EDIT: As a point of opinion, with your existing load you'll probably see 500rounds more barrel life than with a top snot load of any powder. As you get beyond 3000fps in just about anything barrel life drops pretty quick. 8lbs of just about any powder is approximately equal to the barrel life of the average hot and fast 6mm chambering.

I have two Remington .243's a 600 Mohawk and a model Seven both prefer 40.5gr IMR4350, Never had a misfire with either rifle. Both shoot a bug hole for my son at 125yds, My best is 3/4 inch at 125. When IMR got scarce I jumped into H4350, groups opened up a TINY bit, Deer cant tell the difference. I have 100gr Nosler Partitions that are performing well at our max deer ranges of 300yds. The 100gr are getting hard to find so I stocked up on some 95gr. I will work up a load for the Mohawk and leave the Seven loads alone. I have plenty stocked up to keep my son shooting for a few years. I shot the 95gr in a friends Savage, very light recoil, but seemed like a lot of muzzle blast. IMR4350 is THE go to powder for the .243win and my buddy swears by it in his 6mm Rem. I found that it performs great in my .270win also.
