does anybody have any suggestions for an accuracy load for the rem 700 xcr tactical chambered in 300 win mag? ive tried about 15 different combos now and just cant get it to shoot consistently. the conditions im shooting in are low 70s temp elevation is 1666 at the range and its been pretty humid here lately. most consistent load so far was 180 gr hornady sst 72.8 gr imr 4831 lapua brass and federal LMR primers im pretty new to reloading and could use any help y'all could give.

I shoot 208 grain Amax bullets in a couple of different 300s with fairly good results. One rifle likes 76.0 grains H1000 and shoots pretty consistent .3 to .5 MOA. The other rifle I haven't gotten to shoot under .5 moa yet, but prefers 76.8 grains H1000 to any other load I've tried. That load is a consistent .6-.7 moa. These loads are not real hot, probably a couple of grains below max. OAL is around 3.600" with Norma brass and Fed 215M for both guns. I've done a fair bit of reading on the subject of the 208 Amax in this chambering, and a number of people have reported good results with this same load (76-77 grains H1000).

ive tried the 208 amax but with 4 other powders. im going to try and find some h1000 tomorrow and see if thats the difference. i was averaging .750 with retumbo and about the same with 7828. i know thats decent but just trying to squeeze out as much accuracy as possible. thanks for the info

H1000 and 215 Bergers 30-40 thou off, with Fed GM 215M. I started at 73 gr and worked up to 79. Stopped at 79 because I am probably getting close to Max. Speed is right at 3000 fps. All 7 powder charges in load development shot one ragged hole groups at 100 yds. By far the most forgiving rifle I've developed a load for.

I have had good luck with both the 208gr AMAX and the 200gr LRX. I load the 208 AMAX with 69.8gr IMR7828SSC in Federal brass and Rem. 9 1/2 M primer with a COAL 3.340". I have not had a chance to chrono that load but I think it is running around 2700fps.
With the 200gr LRX I am using Federal brass with 62.5gr of H4350 and WLRM primers with a COAL of 3.605 and a velocity of 2810fps. With this COAL being 3.605 it has made my rifle a single shot.
