I have a Remington 700 5R Mil-spec chambered in 300 Win Mag. After the third round was fired, the bolt came back without the brass. I pushed it out with the cleaning rod, and after inspection I realized the extractor was broke. I contacted Remington and they wanted me to send them the rifle for inspection / repair. Of course this meant pulling the scope and mounts and having my new rifle gone for three to six months (That is what Remington told me to expect). Instead I had our local gunsmith install a sako extractor and have had no problems since.
