I am looking at the remington 700 for my next rifle. I have noticed they offer a "heavy barrel" and a "bull barrel". Im having trouble finding the differences between the two on the remington site. I would like to know if you know the difference and which do you prefer? It will be chambered in .308

In my experience, "bull" usually means no taper. Those are usually much heavier than "heavy."

Remington should have specs on the actual barrel length and OD. If not, then compare the weight of the 2 rifles. ...provided the length is the same.

What cartridge do you plan to shoot?
What are you shooting at?
How far do you plan to shoot?

Then all else being equal, I'd lean towards the lighter of the two you listed. ...which I beleive should be the one called "heavy barrel"
